Privacy Policy

Sellstreets (“we”, “us”) runs a marketplace that connects shoppers with local, independent shops. This policy covers the Sellstreets shopping app on Android and iOS, the marketplace at shop.sellstreets.com, shop websites at <shop>.sellstreets.com and the related services (together, the “Service”).

Each shop on Sellstreets is an independent business that sells to you directly. When you order from a shop, that shop also receives and uses your order details, as explained below.

Information you give us

• Account details: your name, mobile number, email address and password (stored only in encrypted, hashed form). You can browse without an account.
• Delivery addresses you save.
• Orders, carts, wishlists, reviews and ratings.
• Messages, support and return requests, including any photos you attach.
• Preferences such as language.

Information collected when you use the app

• Location (only with your permission): used to show shops near you and to fill in your delivery address. You can deny it and search or type an address instead.
• Camera and photos (only with your permission): used when you choose to attach a photo, for example to a return request.
• Notifications: a device token from Firebase Cloud Messaging so we can tell you about order updates and replies from shops.
• Device and usage data: app version, device type, operating system, IP address, crash information, and products or shops you recently viewed (kept on your device).

• To create and secure your account and let you sign in.
• To show nearby shops, products, prices and offers.
• To place your orders with shops and keep you updated on them.
• To handle payments, receipts, returns and refunds.
• To provide customer support and pass your requests to the right shop.
• To keep the Service safe, prevent fraud and abuse, and fix problems.
• To understand how the Service is used and improve it, using aggregated data where possible.
• To meet legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

• With the shop you order from: your name, phone number, delivery address, order details and any messages or return requests, so the shop can fulfil and support your order. The shop uses this information as an independent business.
• Public reviews: reviews and ratings you post are visible to other shoppers and to the shop, without your name.
• With service providers who process data for us under contract: cloud hosting and database providers, Amazon Web Services (file storage), Google Firebase (notifications), Razorpay (payments) and our email provider.
• For legal reasons: when required by law, court order or a government authority, or to protect the rights and safety of users and the public.
• Business transfer: if Sellstreets is merged or acquired, data may pass to the new owner under this policy.

Where a shop offers online payment, it is processed by Razorpay. Your card, UPI and bank details are entered with Razorpay and are not stored on our servers. We keep the payment amount, status and reference number. Cash payments are made directly to the shop.

Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Passwords are hashed, photos you attach are stored privately, and access to systems is limited to people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and sign out of shared devices.

We keep your information while your account is active. After you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal information within 30 days, except records we or the shop must keep by law (such as invoices and payment records) and backups, which are overwritten on a rolling schedule.

• You can view and update your name, phone number, addresses and language in your account.
• You can turn off location, camera and notification permissions in your phone’s settings. Some features will then not work.
• You can ask for a copy of your data or for corrections by contacting us.

To delete your account, open My account → Delete account, or go to shop.sellstreets.com/delete-account, and confirm with your password. Deletion happens at once: your personal details, addresses, cart and wishlist are erased and you are signed out everywhere. Orders still in progress must be delivered or cancelled first.

If you cannot sign in, email [email protected] from the email address registered to your account, with the subject “Delete my account”. We will confirm the request and delete the account within 30 days.

You must be at least 18 to create an account. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this policy. We will change the “Last updated” date and, for important changes, tell you in the app before they take effect.
